The Division of Career and Technical Education promotes excellence in learning, teaching, and service by providing quality education in Career and Technical program areas. The division prepares students to meet the diverse needs of business and industry in the community.
Automotive Technicians perform repairs and routine service on automobiles. We offer a technical certificate in automotive service technology and certificates of proficiency in both automotive diagnostics and automotive maintenance.
Cosmetologists specialize in beauty treatment. We offer a technical certificate in cosmetology and certificates of proficiency in both hair care and nail and skin care.
Our Associate's Degree in general technology is completed by combining one of our technical program areas with certain general-education credits.
Our Industrial Technology-Mechatronics program trains students to manage modern maintenance systems. We offer an Associate's Degree, along with a Certificate of Proficiency and a technical certificate in this area.
Process technicians operate the systems that run industrial plants. We offer both an associate’s degree and a technical certificate in process technology.
Through a consortium of secondary school districts, Union County high school students may pursue a program of technical skills studies on the SouthArk campus.
Welders use tools that apply heat and pressure to join materials. We offer a technical certificate in welding technology and certificates of proficiency in shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding and layout and pipefitting welding.
