Workplace Education

The Workplace Education program offers basic academic skills to local businesses. Classes can be offered on the local business or industry site. 

Classes can be GED, refresher courses, or tailored to the needs of employers in the basic skill areas.

Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE)

Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE) is a State of Arkansas Certified Program to help individuals improve their skills necessary for employment. The WAGE Program is an industry, education, and community collaborative for workforce development. The program incorporates an alliance between local employer advisory councils, adult education services, employment and training agencies, industrial development foundations, and county/city governments to identify and provide training in those literacy skills that are essential to most entry level jobs in the community.
 
Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE) is a State of Arkansas Certified Program to help individuals improve their skills necessary for employment. To earn a state WAGE Industrial Certificate, the student has to score a 12.9 grade level on the Test of Adult Basic Education, pass the WAGE test, complete the Computer literacy curriculum, pass the approved spatial and mechanical aptitude test, and complete the employability module. Other certificates include a WAGE Clerical Certificate, and the WAGE Employability Certificate. This certificate is recognized by local business and industry partners in Union County.

The GED Program is designed for those persons who would like to earn their Arkansas High School diploma through the General Educational Development program (GED). Students must earn a passing score on the Official GED Practice Test before they may take the Official GED Test. Instructional focus will be on the topics that are included in the GED battery of five tests: language arts/writing, language arts/reading, science, social studies, and mathematics. There is no charge for GED classes or for GED testing. See schedule for classes.
