Students at South Arkansas Community College recently were given awards in the school’s first fall Student Recognition Ceremony.
The college has had such an event in the spring for many years, but added a fall event this year to accommodate the large number of students who finish coursework at SouthArk in the fall.
Receiving Exemplary Student Leadership Awards were Sherry Justus, Joseph Neely, Lisa Sipes and Beth Moses, all of El Dorado; and Amy May of Magnolia.
Named Outstanding Academic Students in the liberal arts division were Rajesh Laffey, Candice Smith and Hoang Huynh Dang, all of El Dorado; Danielle Kelley of Crossett; and Randall Banks of Spearsville, La.
Named Outstanding Academic Students in the business and technology division were Daniel Loggins, Morris Reynolds and Joshua Wise, all of El Dorado; Saul Garay of Warren; and Sheila Currier of New Edinburg.
Named Outstanding Academic Students in the health and natural sciences division were Josephine Harris, Valeria Galbraith, Amanda Qualls and Amber Rogers, all of El Dorado; Meagan Brooks and Jessica Hollis, both of Hamburg; Jamie Wolfe of Warren; Cheryl Babb and Sumner Black, both of Magnolia; Lindsey Beth Rogers of Stamps; Zach Jennings of Smackover; Adam Rider of Hope; and Nicolai Carrier of Norphlet.
Outstanding Student Workers were Anne Moses and Christy Choate, both of El Dorado; and Danika Torrence of Stephens.
