This sequence of courses is designed to fulfill the general requirements of the first two years of study for a four-year degree in Business. Students wishing to transfer should ask for a transfer guide from the college where they plan to pursue their baccalaureate.
This program employs a study of the basic theory and design of computer and network hardware, basic diagnostic skills for optimum computer and network operation, and basic repair and maintenance skills for computer hardware and network systems. The student will demonstrate skills mastery through several academic structures: two certificates of proficiency, a technical certificate and-or an associate's degree in general technology-computer repair and network installation. Additionally, the student will have the opportunity to secure the specific skills necessary to demonstrate technical and professional competency for National certification, through CompTia A+ and Leviton Cabling exams and will be enabled to enter the computer repair and network installation job market as an entry-level technical professional.
Entry-level computer repair and network installation technicians are in heavy demand. Students may obtain the basic theory and skills to enter this career market through obtaining certificates of proficiency in one or two areas of computer engineering technology. The student has the opportunity of obtained a certificate of proficiency in computer installation and repair and-or network installation and maintenance. This generic training equips the student to work in industry, business, governmental and non-profit computer support operations. Students seeking self-employment opportunities can combine this major with the entrepreneurship coursework in pursuing the associate's degree in general technology.
Cosmetology at SouthArk is designed to prepare you for the cosmetology licensing exam, and to equip you with all of the skills that you need to be a successful professional.
During training, students will receive instruction in the following state mandated areas: hygiene and sanitation, related science, hairdressing, manicuring, cosmetic therapy, salesmanship and shop management, and salon deportment.
This program is intended to prepare students to receive two certificates of proficiency and a technical certificate, to pass the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology licensing examination and to enter workplace with the skills needed to succeed as a professional.
For those seeking self-employment, the technical certificate can be paired with entrepreneurship coursework and applied toward an associate's degree in general technology.

Entrepreneurship at SouthArk is designed to teach students how to start, develop, finance, manage and harvest new business ventures with high-growth potential.
Students will examine current academic theory and best practices in the field, and will be exposed to successful practicing entrepreneurs. The program serves both those whose long-term plans include self-employment, as well as those who want to explore entrepreneurship to see if they are good candidates for self-employment.
Courses are presented within an active learning environment so that the students may develop the necessary skills to initiate their own ventures, join the family business, or work in entrepreneurial firms—anywhere around the world!
The one-year program provides graduates with a technical certificate in entrepreneurship after 36 hours of coursework. The technical certificate also can be used in combination with other technical course to get the associate of applied science in general technology. This is ideal for would-be entrepreneurs who need to develop a technical skill. Many of the classes are offered on the East Campus for the convenience of those technical- program students who are pursuing the associate's in general technology.
