Circuit Judge Robin J. Carroll will be the keynote speaker for Spring Commencement exercises at South Arkansas Community College at 7 p.m. on May 9 at the El Dorado Conference Center.
More than 350 students will graduate.
Carroll is the Fourth Division circuit judge for the 13th Judicial District, covering Calhoun, Cleveland, Columbia, Dallas, Ouachita and Union Counties. He was elected without opposition in 2012. Carroll first was elected prosecuting attorney in 2006, and was re-elected without opposition in 2010.
He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock School of Law. Carroll graduated from Henderson State University with honors in 1993. He was captain of the golf team his senior season and was named an NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete and GTE Academic All-American. In 2011 Carroll was inducted into the Henderson State Sports Hall of Honor.
He was named as one of the 10 Outstanding Young Arkansans by the Arkansas Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1997, one of the Arkansas Business "40 Under 40" business leaders in 2001, received the Henderson State University "Young Alumni Achievement Award" in 2007 and was admitted into the Henderson Academy of Scholars in 2008.
Carroll also is the secretary of the SouthArk Foundation Board of Directors.
