How can I get help with my work?
Students may request additional help to improve their skills through self-paced computer tutorials such as Skills Tutor. Also, professional tutors are available to assist students in the areas of computers, language arts, mathematics, and science (See the charts below). Students with appointments are given priority; however, tutors and computers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please come prepared for your tutoring session(s). Bring a list of questions or topics you wish to discuss, your textbook, and your assignment. Read the required chapters, and try to work out any problems as best you can before you see a tutor. When bringing in a paper to be tutored, please be sure to have it typed. The tutors will assist you with your work; they will not do it for you. Please call 870-864-7196 to request a tutoring appointment.
Can I do any of my work on the computers in TLC?
TLC houses 24 computers that provide access to software such as Skills Tutor, Microsoft Office, Blackboard, and more. Students may use TLC’s word processing programs to prepare papers, complete assignments, and print documents. Every student is given 500 prints each semester he or she are enrolled. Internet access is also available for research and e-mail.
How much does it cost to use TLC?
The use of TLC is free for SouthArk students.
What is NOT allowed while I'm in TLC?
NO infants or children are allowed in TLC due to safety and other factors. There is NO eating, drinking, or cell phone usage in TLC. If you forget to turn your phone off, or on vibrate, and it rings, immediately exit into the hallway and be sure to silent your phone before returning.
