Culinary Program

SouthArk’s Culinary Arts Certificate Program offers the credential that primes you to step into any kitchen, work with suppliers, and lead professionals across the foodservice industry.

Students will prepare cuisines of the Americas, Asia, and the Mediterranean.

We will explore fundamental flavor strategies and healthy cooking methods.

Look into the principles of baking and pastry, as well as food production techniques.

Completion of this program will greatly advance your career options with your newfound kitchen knowledge.

The technical phase of the PTA training consists of two consecutive semesters of full-time, day-time studies including both classroom studies and Culinary Lab time (10-15 hours/week). Each class group will start in the fall semester and finish in spring.

Enrollment is limited to 15 students.

Students who wish to successfully complete the Culinary Arts program will be required to complete an externship consisting of 100 hours of training in a restaurant kitchen or café.
