Out of State Tuition Scholarship

 

Scholarship:

  • Scholarship amount will be the difference between the in-state and out-of-state tuition costs to attend SouthArk, for up to one full academic year (Fall to Fall). Books and fees are not included.

Requirements:

  • Residence in one of six Louisiana parishes: Bossier, Caddo, East Carroll, Lincoln, Ouachita, or West Carroll
  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license or proof of residency in one of the six parishes noted above
  • Signed Out of State Tuition Scholarship application
  • Official high school and/or college transcript(s)
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA in high school or transfer from another college with a 2.5 GPA

Renewal:

  • Maintain 2.0 or higher GPA
  • Maintain residency in one of the six Louisiana parishes noted above
  • Submit a new, signed Out of State Tuition Scholarship application for the new academic year

  • All first-time entering students must submit an official high school transcript with their application
  • All other students must submit an official college transcript with their application

The O.B. Clark Memorial Scholarship
  • First-time entering students
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA
  • Graduate of a Union County high school
  • Must enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester
  • Amount of scholarship determined annually
  • Must have completed at least 9 credit hours
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the 1st semester
  • Must have completed at least 24 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the 2nd semester
  • Must have completed at least 36 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the 3rd semester
The Albert W. Loftin Scholarship
  • First-time entering freshmen
  • Graduate of a Union County high school
  • Must be recommended by high school counselor based on academic achievement, potential for future academic promise, and citizenship
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA
  • Must enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester
  • Submit letter of recommendation from high school counselor
  • Half-tuition scholarship
  • Must have completed at least 9 credithours with a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the 1st semester
  • Must have completed at least 24 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the 2nd semester
  • Must have completed at least 36 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the 3rd semester
  • Renewable for up to two academic years
  • The total number of scholarships awarded is based on the availability of funds
Employee Club Scholarship
  • Student must have applied for and been denied all other types of aid
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA
  • Awards based on availability of funds
 
Kimberly Wood Memorial Nursing Scholarship
  • Current Practical Nursing student at South Arkansas Community College
  • Applications available from the Practical Nursing Department
  • Awarded once each year
