This employee will work under the supervision of the Adult Education Director.
Coordinator Duties:
- Professional management of Adult Education courses in GED, WAGE, and ESL programs in Union County.
- Ensure teachers and programs are following curriculum standard requirements, various instructional strategies are being used, attendance records are being monitored, student contact hours are being monitored, students are being asked to post-test, and teachers are completing required trainings and professional development for licensure requirements.
- Head the Distance Learning Program for Adult Education faculty. Completion of Distance Learning Certification is required (training provided). This includes organizing and approving faculty curriculum and lessons for virtual class design and upload.
- Provide teacher support for virtual classrooms and distance learning.
- Ensure virtual and on-campus classrooms are accessible, safe, healthy, accommodating, organized, and geared towards learning and higher level thinking.
- Classroom files are being monitored and meet state/federal requirements for Site Visits and Program Reviews.
- Serve as support system and leader to part-time and full-time faculty. Conduct classroom observations and teacher evaluations.
- Assist Director in Adult Ed Advisory Meetings by contacting partners, creating agendas, maintaining minutes and documentation, meeting set-ups, conducting meetings, etc.
- Assist with shift coverage in Adult Ed Computer Lab. Assist students with learning modules in Essential Education, various assessments, reviewing checklist for completions, and one-on-one tutoring (as needed). Monitor student hours for post-testing, attendance, and gains.

Bachelor’s Degree and Arkansas Educator’s License is required. Master’s Degree preferred. Skills include leadership qualities, some management experience, teaching experience, computer skills, communication skills, and organization skills. Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Google Classroom, Zoom, and Outlook.
