JOB PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Finance/Controller, the Fiscal Support Analyst is responsible for processing payments for the College, responsible for comprehensive fiscal analyses and research for campus leadership as well as external resources and oversight of central receiving.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

Accounts Payable functions include verification of all documentation to assure accuracy and completeness for State of Arkansas as well as following detailed and specific Legislative Audit procedures. This position is responsible for processing all non-payroll payments for the college as well as payments for the El Dorado Conference Center. Position is also responsible for comprehensive analytical research relating to payments, invoices or related documentation for SouthArk, El Dorado Conference Center, College Auxiliary Services, research for procurement bids as well as other general analysis as requested by Campus leadership, external vendors and other campus personnel. Effective interpretation of data to ensure credible and reliable information as well to maintain confidentiality and integrity of the data as applicable. Maintain data in spreadsheets for several monthly/daily reporting processes as needed. Scan, format file and index documents in Forms Imaging System. Review and help clear outstanding AP checks.

Qualifications and Competencies:

Associates of Arts degree with focus on general business required and Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance preferred.  Strong organizational, communications, leadership and computer skills required. 

Required Education and Experience:

Associates of Arts degree with focus on general business or related field required.  Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance preferred.  A minimum of five years’ experience in state college or university accounting, accounts payable and payment processing required.  Knowledge and skill in the use of ERPs, or related integrated software systems, such as Jenzabar, Microsoft Office applications are required.  Intermediate Excel skills required.  Skill in maintaining effective communication with vendors and other personnel including quality customer service skills sets, demonstrated commitment to the management system structure and ability to work collaboratively with strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Minimum of five years in a college or university accounting and/or accounts payable position with evidence of willingness to learn and progressive increasing levels of responsibility, Knowledge and skills in the use of Jenzabar and experience with state and audit reporting requirements as well as intermediate skills in Excel.

Work Environment:

The position is primarily sedentary within an office environment.  The position does require daily campus interaction to other buildings for campus mail and processing of payments and other item as well as working with freight and incoming/outgoing mail deliveries.

Physical Demands:

The individual may kneel or reach at or above shoulder level.  The individual should have the ability to lift less than 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements:

This individual could have some minimal travel requirements for training or work-related meetings.
