Part-Time GED/WAGE Faculty in El Dorado

 

One Part-Time Adult Education instructor position is available for a qualified individual in Union County located at the SouthArk El Dorado East Campus.

Duties:            

1. Provide basic skill instruction for GED and WAGE students in the areas of reading, language, and/or mathematics.  Instruction for social studies and science may also be necessary, since it is required for GED Testing.  Complete Lesson Plans that follow standards.  Complete, monitor, and update Student Learning Plans for student files to show student goals and progress.

  1. 2. Assist students with preparing for assessments include TABE Testing, GED Testing, and WAGE assessments.
  2. 3. Must be familiar with technology and able to conduct a virtual class. Must have the skills and experience of using a computer, keyboard/typing, internet, email, copier/scanner, Google Documents, virtual lesson building, Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Zoom for virtual meetings.  Other necessary technology skills are ability to create, save, upload, and download documents on the computer.
  3. 4. Participate in professional development activities as required by Adult Education and state of Arkansas.
  4. 5. Stay up-to-date with teaching standards and policies, have knowledge of current trends in learning styles, and assist students in obtaining accommodations.
  5. 6. Ability to work with a diverse student population on multiple levels.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred.  Current Arkansas Teaching Certificate.

Term:               Part-Time positions are contracted on a year-to-year basis depending on availability of State/Federal funds budgeted to the Adult Education Department.
