Computer Labs

To ensure our SouthArk students have the required computer resources and internet connectivity, four Whitfield Building computer labs will remain open with designated hours during the period of remote instruction so long as it is safe to do so. SouthArk custodial personnel will take every precaution possible to keep the facility as clean as possible in order to combat any possible spreading of the virus.

Computer Labs

Four (4) computer labs are available for one-hour sessions in the Whitfield (WHT) building on the West campus. These labs are available Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (hours may change based on usage and student need).

WHT will have a single-entry and exit point on the east side of the building (facing West Av.). Available labs are located in WHT 101, 102, 208, and 210.

Each student entering WHT is expected to be in good health, with no fever or other symptoms. These labs will accommodate no more than 8 students at any time, and usage will be based upon the first-come-first-serve sign-up process.

Each available computer slot will be for one hour with students having a maximum of two consecutive hours unless computer availability allows additional time. No food or drinks will be allowed in the area unless documented dietary needs.

Sign-up will be by phone or email only for the first week starting Monday, March 30. Please contact Casey Martin at 870-864-7196 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Starting Monday, April 6, online scheduling will be made available as an additional means to schedule time slots.  Drop-ins may not be able to be accommodated if space is not available, and waiting will NOT be allowed to support social distancing.

Please show up on time to ensure your time slot is not forfeited. If there is a line of students, please do not crowd, follow directions, and maintain at least a 10-foot distance.

Special Instructions

SouthArk students who live in states with stay at home orders, such as Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, should abide by those orders and not attempt to come to campus.

SouthArk students who have visited hot spot areas within the last 14 days, will need to provide proof of additional screening prior to accessing SouthArk’s computer labs and/or testing center.

Please continue to communicate with your instructors via email for alternative options.

Once you have finished with your computer, you are required to use the provide disinfectant wipes to clean the keyboard, chair, and desktop.

Additional Internet Connectivity

The West and East campuses have WiFi internet signal that can be used by parking near the various buildings. Signal strength is dependent on several factors; thus, the signal may be stronger outside different buildings on different days.
