Chelsey's Recommendation-
Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
I couldn’t wait to dive into this early look at Haymitch’s Hunger Games—and it didn’t disappoint. There were so many connections that I had to go back and reread the entire series. What a fun summer to revisit an old favorite with a fresh perspective!
Lauri's Recommendation-
James by Percival Everett
I’m sure a lot of people are tired of hearing about James and all the awards it has won. Just forget about all that and pick it up right now. James was a great read to me because it was such a surprise. It takes a familiar story –The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - and turns it upside down. There are some very funny moments, some very dark humor and heartbreak as well. It’s also an adventure story with a lot of action, so it goes fast. However, there’s a lot to think about regarding identity and sacrifice. This is one of my favorite books of the last year, and I hope everyone will read it
Cait's Recommendation-
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore
Welcome to Dream Harbour, the first in a series by Laurie Gilmore. I know it's summer, and this book has all the fall vibes, but bear with me, this is a fun cozy read, which is what we need for our summer reads. If you love all things Fall, grumpy sunshine tropes, and a cute cat, then this is the perfect book for you.
