The South Arkansas College Stars baseball team is headed to the NJCAA Region 2 Division II Tournament after a decisive postseason series victory, continuing a strong season that has positioned the program among the region’s elite.
SouthArk secured its spot in the regional tournament by winning the NJCAA Region 2 crossover series against Northern Oklahoma College–Tonkawa, punching its ticket to the next round of postseason play. With the series win, the Stars now advance to the Region 2 Tournament, scheduled for May 7–10 in Enid, Oklahoma.
The Stars enter the tournament with momentum and confidence, having been ranked among the top teams in the nation and holding the No. 1 spot in the Region 2 East standings late in the regular season. Their consistent performance throughout the year has made them a formidable contender as they pursue a regional championship.
This postseason appearance marks another milestone for a rapidly rising program. Since launching baseball in 2022, SouthArk has quickly established itself as a competitive force in NJCAA Division II. The Stars previously captured three Region 2 championships and advanced to the NJCAA World Series in 2023 and 2024, finishing among the top teams in the nation.
Now, the focus turns to Enid, where the Stars will compete in a double-elimination tournament format against the region’s top teams. A strong showing would propel SouthArk one step closer to another district title and a return trip to the national stage.
As the team prepares for the tournament, support from the SouthArk community continues to grow, with fans and supporters rallying behind the Stars for their postseason run. Donations are being accepted at https://bookstore.southark.edu/category/support-stars
