One of the prerequisites for admission into the professional phase of some of the health science programs is the ATI Test Of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). The ATI TEAS should not be scheduled until the semester prior to applying for admission to the professional program and following completion of all basic studies requirements. It is recommended that students complete program science requirements prior to testing for an enhanced degree of success.

Each student must pay the testing fee ($75) online at https://bookstore.southark.edu/category/test-fees and schedule a testing day and time with the Testing Center by calling (870) 864-7196 or emailing testing@southark.eduThe Testing Center will give each student a copy of their scores upon completion of the test and review these scores with the student. This score report will be signed, dated, and stamped by the Testing Center.

ATI TEAS Version 7 includes these types of questions.

  • Multiple Choice: has four answer options with only one correct answer.

  • Multiple Select: has four or more answer options where more than 1 may be correct.

  • Supply Answer: the answer needs to be typed.

  • Hot Spot: an image is provided with clickable areas and the correct response must be given about those areas of the image.

  • Ordered Response: a set of response options must be placed in the correct order.

  • An ATI TEAS Study Manual is available at the Testing Center, Library, and Health Science dean’s office - which are to be used only on campus.

  • This Study Manual can also be purchased on the E-Campus Bookstore website https://southark.eccampus.com (ISBN#: 978-1-56533-239-3).

  • It is recommended to review, practice, and take each section’s quiz to best determine areas of strengths and weaknesses.

  • Also, a handout with additional test prep information can be found on the ATI TEAS FAQ

Each Health Science program has different minimum scores and other requirements for the exam. See below for this information. Only the programs which require ATI TEAS are listed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Even though the student must attain the minimum scores listed below to qualify for program admission, most students who are selected for these programs score well above the minimum requirements listed.
