Part-Time Instructor, Medication Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced part-time instructor for the Medication Assistant course within our Adult Education program. This position will provide instruction and support to students, ensuring the successful completion of course requirements. The instructor will also assist the Director of Adult Education by coordinating clinical studies and ensuring that all program and regulatory requirements are met, with program oversight from the Director of Nursing. Responsibilities include delivering course content, overseeing students' practical skill development, and signing off on required skills checklists. This is a 100% grant funded, part-time position (16-20 hours per week) through June 2025 with possibility of continuation into the 25-26 program year (dates to be determined). This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Salary: $30 per hour; with 16-20 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educate students according to program guidelines, ensuring all program and regulatory requirements are met.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of classes, attendance, and other related information.

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure administrative processes and procedures are followed

  • Administer student assessments.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospects, students, and community partners.

  • Represent the program in the community, identify resources, identify potential partners, and advocate for SouthArk Adult Education

  • Recruit healthcare partners for clinical program and potential employment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • RN License

  • At least 2 years of long-term care experience

  • Experience in teaching and/or training experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience teaching in an adult education program

  • Current Arkansas Adult Education teaching certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily an instructional role, requiring navigation in the classroom to assist students and movement between offices and other areas for meetings

  • Occasional light lifting of files, boxes, or office materials (typically less than 10 lbs)

Travel Requirements:

  • Instruction and clinical oversight at off-campus approved facilities
