BOOT Camp (Basic Operator Orientation Training)
BOOT Camp offers an introduction to process technology using the H.O.T. (Hands on Trainer) unit. Each course is limited to 15 students and advanced registration is required. The topics covered include: safety training, industrial drawings, valves, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, sampling, DCS/control, and LOTO. Upon completion, a certificate is awarded for 2.4 CEUs earned.
Worker Safety Courses
Each year, our team offers a two-hour training on a variety of safety topics. The current topic provides training in Fall Protection. The courses are free to attend and are offered Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 am.
All course materials are OSHA-approved, and the courses are free-of-charge to independent contractors and employees of small businesses, during the grant performance period. A bilingual instructor assistant will be available to assist those who have limited English language skills; however, you must call our office in advance to schedule this.
This program is fully-funded and made possible by a $100,086.00 Susan Harwood Training Grant from OSHA and the Department of Labor, awarded to SouthArk in September 2022.
HAZWOPER
The Career Accelerator offers an initial HAZWOPER training (24-hours) and an 8-hour refresher course. The program provides training to employees who are (or are potentially) exposed to hazardous substances.
