- First 4 letters indicate the subject. For example: ENGL = English The first digit indicates the level:
- 0 = Developmental
- 1 – Freshman Level
- 2 – Sophomore Level
- The last digit (before the period) indicated the credits.
- For example: 1013 = 3 credits
- The two middle numbers of the 4 digit code serve no purpose. Jenzabar requires a 4-digit code. The numbers after the period indicate the section number, as follows:

01-10 | indicate West Campus courses offered between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. |
11-19 | indicate classes taught at local area high schools or classes limited to high school students |
20-29 | indicate West Campus courses offered between 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. |
30-39 | indicate hybrid courses (taught in the classroom with online components) |
40-49 | indicate courses taught on the Warren campus |
50-59 | indicate courses taught on East Campus between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. |
60-69 | indicate courses taught for the purposes of a grant or special project |
