Board of Nursing, is designed to prepare practical nurses to assist in providing nursing care
in a variety of acute and convalescent health care environments for patients across the lifespan.

Practical Nursing Program

The Practical Nursing (PN) Program at South Arkansas College is designed to prepare the graduate for an entry level nursing career in a variety of health care environments..

Successful graduates will earn a Technical Certificate (TC) in Practical Nursing from the college and will be eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) and apply for licensure through the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, which allows the individual to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

SouthArk offers four PN programs:

1) The El Dorado Day Program is a three-semester (12-month)  program on the main campus in El Dorado, which starts in the summer semester each year and concludes in May.

2) The Warren Day Program is a  three-semester day (12-month) program on our satellite campus in Warren, Arkansas, which starts in January each year and concludes in December.

3) The Evening program is a three-semester (12-month) program on the main campus in El Dorado, which starts in the fall semester each year and concludes in August.

4) The Secondary Technical Center Program is a three semester (12 month) program for area High School Seniors.  It is offered on the main campus in El Dorado and starts in the fall semester and concludes in August.
