Here is a step-by-step explanation of how to handle issues with students.
Attendance
- Make sure you’re tracking attendance for each class, always check your roster in MyCampus, and try to contact the student. CLICK HERE for instructions on checking your roster.
- File an Early Alert through MyCampus as soon as a student is showing a trend of missing class. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to do so.
- If the problem persists, you may issue a “WE Warning.” CLICK HERE for instructions on filing this form.
- How do I know if a student has withdrawn from my class? CLICK HERE for instructions on checking your roster; if the student has a grade of "W," then he or she has withdrawn from the class.
Academic Performance
- If a student is struggling in class, you may refer the student directly to The Learning Center (TLC) in the El Dorado Conference and Student Center if extra help is needed, such as incomplete homework or failed tests. - For academic misconduct (cheating, plagiarism, etc.), contact your Dean immediately on how to proceed.
Disruptive Behavior
- For disruptive behavior in the classroom, notify your Dean immediately and document the incident through the Student Misconduct form. CLICK HERE to download this form.

- If the student's behavior is dangerous, violent, or threatening, submit a report to the Behavioral Review Team (BRT): CLICK HERE.
- If there is an emergency, contact Campus Security at 311 or via a red phone in the hallways, or dial 911.
- For academic misconduct (cheating, plagiarism, etc.), contact your Dean immediately on how to proceed.
